New Mangalore Port is the one only harbor port in the state of Karnataka, and also the 7th largest harbor port in India. The port is located in the Panambur district of Karnataka. The New Mangalore Port Project was initiated in the year 1962 which attained completion in 1974. The port was officially inaugurated on January 11, 1975 and the Port Trust Board called ‘New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT)’, responsible for managing the administration. It is the major commercial & business hub in Karnataka state in India. You can see many of the import and export operations in the port, which include granite, iron ore, cashew, coffee, and spices, etc.
