Yakshagana

It combines dance, music, dialogue, costume, make-up, stage techniques with unique style, which is practiced in the form of bayalata. Yakshagana performance usually depicts a story from Hindu puranas and epics. It consists of 

-         Himmela: Background musicians. It consists of Bhagawata who is the facilitator(singer), Maddale, Harmonium, Chande.

-         Mummela: Dance and dialogue group.

There are comic, villain, hero and female characters in yakshagana.  

The most common story is Devi Mahatme(Story of goddess Durga). One has to undergo many years of practice in order to justify the characters.
