It is a traditional buffalo race, in a paddy field filled with muddy water. It has a lot of significance in Tulunad. It is a sport of farmers. These are conducted in different places. Farmers take care of buffalos like how a mother would take care of her children. Buffalos are trained in a specific region. Winners are awarded rewards such as cash prize, gold/silver coins, etc.
