Kukke Shri Subrahmanya Temple

Kukke Shri Subrahmanya temple is located in the Subramanya town of Sullia Taluk in Dakshina Kannada district. Sri Kshetra is on the banks of the river Kumaradhara and devotees take a holy bath in it before going to the temple. Kukke Subrahmanya is the abode of nagas. Lord Subrahmanya is the main deity of Kukke Subrahmanya Temple. On the upper Dias there is the idol of Shree Subrahmanya and then the idol of Vasuki and a little lower the idol of Shesha. Kukke Subrahmanya, one among the seven holy places created by Parashurama is myth logically and historically famous for Nagaradhane. 

Divine serpent Vasuki is believed to have taken refuge in Kukke Subramanya while being hunted by Garuda (vehicle of Lord Vishnu). Lord Kumaraswamy and his brother Lord Ganesha are said to have killed demon rulers Tharaka and Shura Padmasurya in Kumara Parvatha near Kukke Subramanya. After the victory, Lord Kumaraswamy married the daughter of Indra- Devasena. All major gods attended the wedding event, bestowing divine powers to the place.

Kukke Subramanya Temple is the ideal place for Naga Dosha Pariharam through Sarpa Samskara Pooja, Naga Dosha Pooja, Ashlesha Pooja, Sarpa Dosha Puja, Kuja dosha puja, Nagaprathishta Pooja, Sarpa Shanti.
