Surathkal lighthouse construction work was started in 1969 and was completed by 1972. The lighthouse is opposite the NITK Surathkal. You can visit this lighthouse between 4 PM and 5 PM in the evening. This lighthouse offers a panoramic view of the scenic beachfront of the Surathkal beach. Shree Sadashiva Mahaganapathi Temple is adjacent to the lighthouse which is perched atop the rocks.
