Malpe Beach

Malpe beach is clean, peaceful, and beautiful. The beach spread between Swarna Nandi River and Malpe Port is one of the finest beaches in Karnataka. The beach forms a very important port and a fishing harbor in the area. There are a number of restaurants and holiday resorts for you to remain close to the sea for a little longer.

The beautiful Malpe beach is surrounded by 4 rocky islands: Daria-Bahadurgad Island, Kari-Illada- Kallu Island, Daria-Gadara- Kalluthe Island and St. Mary’s Island.

St Mary’s Island is one of the beautiful islands among them and it is approximately 15 km from Udupi This is known for its distinctive geological formation of the hexagonal columns of rock made of basalt. According to the folk legend, in the year 1498, Vasco da Gama landed here and claimed the island in the name of Mother Mary.  To reach this place, board the boat from the Malpe fishing harbor.

Malpe Beach has pleasant weather and clean white sand which makes it ideal for a variety of water sports activities such as Surfing, Jet Ski or Water Scooter Rides, Parasailing, Banana Rides, Speed Boat Rides, Speed Boat Cruise to St. Mary’s Island, etc,.
