Saavira Kambada Basadi Moodabidri

It is a Jain temple famous for its 1000 pillars. The temple is also known as "Chandranatha Temple" since it honors the Tirthankara Chandraprabha, whose eight-foot idol is worshipped in the shrine. The town of Moodabidri is noted for its eighteen Jain temples but Saavira Kambada Temple is considered the finest among them. In the year 1430, Saavira Kambada Basadi was built by a local chieftain, Devaraya Wodeyar.

Every pillar narrates a story and each has its own beauty. The beauty of this temple lies in the tall pillars that stand and support 3 story temple. There are stone carvings on the sides, with the view of 60 ft monolith Manasthambha.
